Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Reports To: Quality Supervisor
Back-up Position: Quality Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Follows all safety requirements, policies and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management
-
Inspects and tests in-process and finished product to ensure they meet product specifications and customer requirements
-
Gathers and inputs quality test data in the system
-
Perform additional quality testing for COA for specified customers.
-
Uses basic knowledge of printing, laminating, slitting, and pouch making of flexible packaging films when inspecting for defects.
-
Has knowledge of quality test methods when inspecting production samples
-
Advises production personnel of quality problems.

Put on Hold non-conforming material, document the material hold, and ensure material is placed in the QA Hold Area
-
Communicates effectively with operators, leads, supervisors, and management regarding non-conforming material.

Work with cross-functional teams
-
Review press records and ensure proper documentation was provided
-
Ability to train other employees on quality assurance procedures and standards.

Follows and participates in plant-safe housekeeping guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
-
Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
-
Follows and participates in the SQF and HACCP programs.
-
Assists other QA Techs as required to assure customer requirements are met

Back up to the Quality Assurance Supervisor
-
Be available to cover absences or work overtime within the department as requested by management.

Perform additional duties/tasks as assigned
SQF / Food Safety Responsibilities

Assure compliance with all SQF Procedure requirements

Assure compliance with all GMP requirements

Assure all products are manufactured in a safe, quality manner

Assure compliance with all customer specifications

Promote and enforce compliance with all employees
